A4 B5 ABS and check brake warning light
hi everyone,
for some reason my abs light and check brake light is on constantly. Both the ABS and the cars brakes are fine and work perfectly. The licensing centre over here wont license the car until these lights are off.
Would it have anything to do with the car having a flat battery for awhile and then fitting a new one last night?
is their anyway i can turn these lights off by removing a fuse or something
thanks

RE: A4 B5 ABS and check brake warning light
theonly reason the abs light is up is to tell you that the abs is off.
if the smallest fualt is detected in the brake system then the abs instanly/automaticly shuts off.
so in other words, you have no abs right now.
dont you have a check engine light on?
and no, to my knowledge, there is no way to take them 2 lights off.
check your fuses, there are 3 abs fuses. check your calipers, make sure one isnt seizing up, which could be why your brake light is on also.
i also have both of them lights on, but only becuase i have taken the abs fuses out.

Is the ABS light on solid and the Brake Light flashing? Becuase if it is I had the same problem and I took it to the dealer and they found out that it was a bad computer piece.. It's costing me about $700 to get it fixed but I too have to get the lights off to get my tags renewed..
