A4 Battery
Hi, I’m new to this site. I belong to BMW and Jeep sites and I find them to be very informative and you meet other enthusiasts. My wife has a 2003 A4, 3.0 Quattro, silver and black purchased new.
The A4 just hit 50K miles and is in service for approximately four years.
I just replaced the battery in my 2003 X5 4.4. It was an hour plus job because it is in the rear, under the spare tire and air compressor. I was thinking I should also change the A4 battery. Any info you could provide regarding approximate average life, type of battery and difficulty to change would be appreciated. I believe Audi wants approximately $155 for the OEM.
Thanks,
drs

You got another year or so on it.
Wait till next year, no need to go oem, just get similar cca rated battery from sears, or advance auto, it'll cost you about half of that.
the battery is right in front of the windshield, possibly under a cover.

hey techbod,
Its great that you posted the pics because it answers a question thatI was about to ask, butI see that you did not address something in your steps. If you look at the second thumbnail pic; on the right hand side(+terminal)of the battery there is an small hose; almost like a 90 degrees plastic elbow connector, connecting it to the battery. I know this cuz my newly purchased battery from kragen has a male nipple on this end and the hose on my car isin the same vicinity but with out the 90 degree elbow (connector if you will) any ways it confirms that this connection should be made to the battery. Hope this helps. Now ifI can just find a factory diargram of our vaccum lines, then I can fix my P0170 problem, i'll be golden.
Oh hey folks, new member, newly purchased 03 A4 Qtro Manny, super stock/clean
