Default A4 coolant pump recalls

Hello, Forum-

I'm sure that this topic has been discussed ad nauseum, but I'm just looking for some immediate feedback on the coolant pump and any other recalls that have plagued the 2013-2016 A4 (and some other models). This is in addition to the software update recall under 17V002. Is it odd that I've seen several used 2015 and 2016 A4s advertised at respectable dealers - all as CPO's - yet the Carfax still shows the recalls outstanding? Does the dealer expect you to buy the car before they address the recall(s)? Why don't they just fix it before listing? Do they hope you won't notice the recall???

It seems like the used cars for sale that Carfax shows still having the recalls are priced somewhat lower than the no-recall vehicles. More specifically, the coolant pump recall I'm speaking of seemingly started off as a software recall in 2016, yet the fix didn't work. Then another occurred in April, 2018, but this time no parts were available until November. Say what?!

Is this why I've also seen certain A4s that seemingly have sat on a dealer's lot for close to a year? For instance, I saw one 2015 that was a lease return in October, 2017, at 28,079 miles, was serviced on January 30, 2018 at 28,092 miles and then inspected offered for sale nearly 9 months later, on October 16, 2018. The car now has 28,232 miles. It has NO recall, mind you, but it sure confuses a person as to whether the recall has actually been addressed or not. I guess you can trust CarFax? Or simply ask the dealer straight away. Also, wasn't it also a case wherein the "B8" models (motors?) versus the "B9" models didn't have this issue? I have no idea how to qualify that difference or how to verify which used A4s fall under which category.

All thoughts welcome here.

Default Coolant pump disconnected by dealer

So my I went to the dealer for yearly service and they performed the recall on the coolant pump. I was advised that they disconnected it and stated that that is one of two possible Audi fixes. I was also told that Audi will be extending the warranty on the turbo charger as a result. That begs the following question. If Audi is providing an extended warranty on the TC, the disconnection could have a negative impact, right? The car was designed with the pump running and now it does not. This seems counterintuitive to me. Audi needs to come clean and be clear in terms of replacement ASAP. Or, perhaps the dealer service rep is not communicating the answer clearly. Anybody have any insight on this?
