Dealer says coolant pump is leaking. What is the part number on this? and where can i purchase this other than the dealer? (if anywhere).

I believe ECS tuning has them.

Is this the same as the auxilary water pump?

 

Well you have the main coolant pump that runs off your acc. belt then there is the after-run pump that runs once you turn the car off if it's over a certain temp. Which one is it? Your title says one and your post says another. ECS tuning sells both of them though.

ECS tuning has the Aux. Water Pump which is made by Bosch and located under the intake manifold, also if you buy it from there get the water pump hoses (there are 2) and intake manifold gaskets (need 2).

 

The aux is the correct one i need. I ordered the pump along with the gaskets and hoses. How bad of a diy job would this end up being?

 

I hear it can be done but it helps if you have small hands.

Anyone know if you can bypass the pump when it starts leaking?
