A4 drivers......Opinions.
Yo!
So I own an '03 A6 3.0 and lately I want an even sportier handling on my ride and was thinking, maybe I should just get an A4. I was looking at other cars like getting a G35 or the new Altima coupe, but honestly....all the dealerships keep telling me "Just get a quattro." (I go snowboarding during the season)
My question is, if anyone owns one, how do the A4 quattros handle? I've seen a couple for sale, 3.2 or 2.0T, even looked at an A6 quattro. Any comments?

Have 2007 3.2Q manual 24k. Great car when it runs. Seat memory computer failures, gas flap opened every time door locks were opened (wrong computer program because gas flap will not lock unless flap is closed manually), and ECU failure. Performance? Not bad in comparison to BMW 330xi which had over-boosted power steering which led to oversteer and very unstable at anything over 100 mph (on Autobahn), excessive front brake bias, and also lots of little failures. Have learned that left foot braking with simultaneousacceleratior application or heal-and-toe is not good thing with A4 as ECU decides that you are trying to brake and automatically turns off all power.
I guess you are only talking about brand new ones? Quattro in general is pretty sweet. It grips surprisingly well even on my old 98. It has to be at least a little better on 07s. It will slow your acceleration a touch due to more loss through the drive system and you don't get quite as good mileage, but the difference isn't huge. The handling difference though is significant especially the slippier it gets outside.
if you go snowboarding then quatttro would be a great thing, i dont know how big you are but im only 5'5" and i can fit my snowboard gear in my A4 easy. The quattro ads alot of handiling as allready said by tdrill i think you should go for it the A4 is a great car
I figure I'd have to get a rack, cuz I like to do lots of outdoor sports...already looking at a couple '04 A4's. Special going on w/ Audi Financial giving about 4.9% for any '04 A4. I got the same deal with my A6.
I'm craving that all-wheel drive! Thought also getting the 2.0T Q cuz after riding in my friends Evo8 I was amazed by the handling! But My A6 can still take off way faster than him. Haha! Turbo lag sucks.

I have a 1.8T quattro and i love the handling in that thing. I used to hate rain and but no i love it cuase people look me like i am and F-ing idiot but i am in complete control you got to get one. And on a normal dry day you will love it around those tight bends ooooooooo its soo nice!
With good tires and an RS4 rear swar bar I think mine handles amazing, Its funny because when I have passengers in the car that are not used to driving with me, I will go into a turn pretty fast, and they are expecting to be thrown against the door because of the body roll so they grab onto the handle up near the headliner, but then they are surprised at how well the car takes it and how it does not feel like the turn was taken as fast as it was. I love on ramps too
, accelerating out of them is so fun.

yea i have that same experience with the passangers although they just brace and i love my H&R suspension and not having to slow down at all on off ramps but accelerating on them is sooo much fun
For the record the BMW products SUCK compared to anything Audi. Try some OEM sport suspension springs (actually made by Eibach) like we put on our 2002 A4 3.0. The Quattro does add a little more weight in the rear, but the tighter spring rate will make a huge difference for you. If you don't have a Quattro, try to find the VIN # for a sport suspension equipped front wheeler A4 and use that when requesting parts. We are extremely happy with our results. Excellent ride and road manners, and much better handling than what our standard suspension provided. http://www.AudiA4Mods.com
