Default A4 Engine Codes

Does anyone know if they produced the 2001 A4 1.8 Quatro with more than one engine code? I have a AWM and am looking for motors. Thanks

later in 2001 the code changed to AVJ the tensioner was the only difference I can see on the data which meant longer intervals on timing belt change by 30k

My AWM, early 2001 has a 120K mi. timing belt. At least that is what Audi recommended.
