I would just like to thank you all for your input, unfortunately the one who was almost hit the nail on the head was the one who came back with the dearest solution

After I lost reverse I decided to find a garage that could undertake the work on my gearbox without having to sell my house. I live in Norway and was quoted approx £2706 to fix it, in sweden it was £3200. Eventually I opted for a garage in Manchester, the best thing I could have ever done, these guys only work on automatic gearboxes. I drove the car over to England, I only had to push the car out of the parking place once, and delivered it into the garage then flew down to my parents, 6 days later the car was ready for collection. They had changed all 7 pistons in the gearbox, the forward drive clutch drum, torque converter and overhauled the entire box, the cost, £1245 ex VAT (I dont pay VAT cos I live abroad)

The car works perfect, all previous problems are gone and I am now in love with my car again.

For those of you that are having gearbox problems I really recommend these guys, they were brilliant, service second to none.

Thank you all again for your help

Regards

Andy
