Default A4 Heat Problem PLEASE HELP

So here is my problem. Its cold here in WI. and my heat is not so good.

The tempature of the hot air from the heater rises with the rpms. So at idle I get cool air, but at 4k its nice and hot.

I have replaced the thermostat and did bleed properly so no air is traped.

If anyone has any answers please help!

The doors in the duct work may be sticking.

Would that be why it only heats up when the rpms rise?
Its like as long as your on the gas its ok but once you let off it goes back to luke warm.

Hmmm......

Maybe the water pump or impellar is bad? Sounds like the heater core is not getting enough coolant flow until the engine is revving high.

What does your temp gauge look like? Does the car warm up to normal temp? Still sounds like it could be a bleeding issue if air is trapped somewhere.

Or, could the heater core be partially clogged and only flows though it when more coolant pressure is there?

How did you bleed the system?

Have you ever changed the water pump?

Wow first off thank you all who have posted with such quick responses!

Ok been working on this all day. I checked the control flaps and they are all functioning properly

So I disconected the heater core and ran compressed air thru it what came out was alot of brown sludge.
Filled it with water and repeated about 3 times with the air.
reconected everything , bleed it and now i have heat at idle speed.

It still gets hotter when the rpms are increased but the problem is alot better.

Is there a better way to flush the core out?

My bleedin procedure was to pull the bleeder hose back untinn the hole let water out then unscrew the holding tank and raise it up untill a steady stream ov coolant came out .
Is there a better way to do this?

also the hose on the passenger side of the core is not nearly as hot as the hose on the drivers side.

Once again thank you all for your help!!!!!!!!

What I did to flush mine was cut the end off a good plyable garden hose, heat the end with a lighter (to make it more plyable, cuz it was cold as hell when I was doing this), and stick it over the heater core inlet and outlet. My heater sucked, and after flushing them back and forth a few times each (with an amazing amount of the browne sludge you're talking about coming out), the heater damn near makes my car feel like a sauna minus the moisture if I leave it on HI for too long. Maybe it would help if you ran water through it, just a thought.

Thats a good idea ^^^^^^

Flush out the core even better with water using a hose.

Your bleeding method was correct.

Glad to see at least you made some progress.
