Check the heater core. May be blocked, my friend had a similar problem and had to flush thhe core out and Bingo, heat. Or on a less optimistic note, could be the tstat.

its the thermostat more and likly. if it was the core and blocked under much pressure it would leak and you would smell a horrible coolant smell when heat is blowing. So in all jus get a new thermostat.

hate to bearer of bad news nut to get to the tstat you have to take off the t-belt and put the radiator supportin service posistion, i changed mine without removing the t-belt but took forever, almost 7 hours and im pretty sure i put a bit of stress on the t-belt

Yeah , personally I would try to clean out your heater core first.
There are 2 coolant hoses going into your firewall area-one is a feed and one is return to your
heater core.
remove those hoses-you can clamp them off so all the coolant doesnt leak out.
Then get a semi hi powered water hose and spray it out.

okay, first off if your saying the engine is properly warming up and not overheating...in that case the thermostat is okay. If your thermostat has failed, it will either overheat, or take a long time to build any heat on the gauge. If all is okay there, then deffinatly start with coolant flow, simple test once the engine is up to temp and you have the heat on, feel the hoses going to the heater core, one hot...plugged core, both hot...normal flow through core. If thats the case possibly an issue with blend/temp doors in the box.

Cabin heat is NOT related to the thermostat, if the car is a@ normal operating temp. There is a valve that control coolant to the core, & you may have a block in the core. It might even be a bad HVAC system. I would throw a Vag-Com on there & run some test on the HVAC.
