A4 Mileage
I am looking into buying an Audi A4. Anywhere from 1999-2001. They all seem to have ALOT of miles on them. Everyone I look at has at least 90k on them. Will they last that long. I don't know much about german cars, but everyone says to stay away from VolksWagen because they are very problematic, and I'm assuming since Audi is made by VW,this may be a problem. Is it more about lasting long like engine wise or smaller problems (timing belts, sensors, electrical)?? Thanks for your help guys.
well many ppl are mistaken about german cars, they think they r pieces of ****, sure yes i was skeptical about owning a german car but now i am very glad i got 1. the engines last a very good long time. u will have to change the timing belt from around 60,000 to 80,000 miles. other than that, german cars are great. i love mine. and if u think about it, every car has problems not JUST german cars like every1 else thinks
i heard the same things .... really .... it depends on how well the care has been taken care of and some common sense when buying the car to know what to look for ... obviously if its nasty and dirty mostlikely its been treated like crap and will need alot of things done to it ... if "german (vw and audi) cars" were soo "bad" for problems then why would there be sooooo many on the road ... i say take a look at some of them and ask questions
I just purchased an '01 A4 with 54,000 miles. It can be hard to find them under 60k miles, but it definitely shouldn't be hard to find one with under 80 or 90k...unless you're looking to spend no more than $10,000...
