hi, </P>

anybody have any details on the recall audi/vw did for the coil and ignition problems? how can i find out if a particular A4 is recalled or not.</P>

Call the dealer and have your VIN number handy.

MY firend had that problem with her 2001 A4 and they replaced the coil and now it works great <edited><editID>active1331</editID><editDate>38089.715</editDate></edited>

yeah I think 2001 and 2000 had the coil recall

what is it with the ignition that is being recalled? Sometimes I have the problem of turning it on and it won't start, so I have to do it againfor it to work

its the ignition coilpacks that were recalled. If you had a bad one you would know it when your car was running.

You might have a bad temp sensor if your car has trouble starting. Do you have to keep cranking it?

no Ill try to turn the engine on, but instead everything else will turn on...radio, A/C, then I i turn back the key and try it again and it the engine will start.</P>
