A4 starting problem
how well did you clean (wire brush) the battery posts AND clamps? If it started bysimply jumping it, it could mean the battery to clamp connection could be loose, or there is a ground short(often in the starter solenoid - it happened on my old VW) causing the battery to drain when you stop the car. After you're 100% sure the battery connections are superclean and there is good contact, then starttrouble shooting foryourground short - start at thestarter solenoid. Good luck, it could take hours to find the short if it is not the starter.

actually it does matter on amperage. every battery has an internal resistance that it must overcome in order to power other things. the internal resistance increases and the temperature decrease, thus causing a high internal resistance which results in a lower output power of the battery. i hope you understand wut i said cuz i just learn this in school and i feel very smart being able to spit it back out. if you still don't believe me, go ask any mechanic in a cold climate.
