As silly as it sounds cant say how many times i have seen this happen but have gas in the car?

If it is cranking and not starting you are usually missing 1 of 3 things. Fuel air spark

now dont take this the wrong way but, i hope its outta gas, Kinda funny xD
Otherwise check your starter and spark plugs, like 4ring said
Fire triangle needs
1Fuel
2Air
3Ignition
I'd check all three of these i.e. intake manifold
sparkplugs and wires,
and fuel pump and or/ fuel levels :P
Good luck!

Also, Are there any CEL
or dash lights flashing or sticking?

Default A4 Will not start

Found problem $400 later. The engine was flooded, I know most of you will say leave it a few minutes and try again , this was done over two days with no luck.
The Mobile mechanic removed plugs squirted oil into cylinders replaced plugs ,started first time under clouds of smoke.Result is DO NOT START YOUR CAR FOR A VERY SHORT TIME,give it time to warm up.

Yeah this is the reason i always do my own work.. never know what these other people do remember they dont really care if something gets messed up then you just go back to them. Anyway you should grab a bentley manual..

No CEL ever came on?

Try & do a clear flood. Hold accelerator pedal down to the floor while cranking the engine over. If it is flooded this should get it started without pulling plugs.

i have a similar problem on my audi A4 2004 2L. sometimes it startes very well, especialluy if it has been left with a non-running engine for a lont time. e.g it normally starts ok in the mornings with no problems, but as soon as i drive it for a couple of Kilometers and switch the engine off. i will battle to start it again...even with a push start it doesn't. for it to start its either i leave it for a while or get it to be towed to to push start it..anyone with help, please send me an email on tshepiso.tlokolo@mtn.blackberry.com

Default Audi not starting up

The car would crank, but not kick in @ all. All error message on the car has been cleared, and other parts replaced like the engine coolant temperature sensor.
