Hey guys.. i plan on purchasing a used/ pre owned Audi A4. I looked at the 2002 Model and i liked it a lot. Are there years where the car has changed? Engine wise? and Interior wise?

I plan on Modding my new car such as -exterior- Body kit, spoiler, bumper, Wheels... Interior- Speakers/subs/amps... and Engine- Headers , maybe superchips, intake mod.

I want to make a unique car that i can drive around knowing that if sombody wants to race i could. But i want the reliability of a regurlar A4.

What engine choices do i have and what is the best to buy.

Should read the forums... this has to be the most redundant question this forum sees.

 

my advice after blowing my turbo and engine over the weekend, would be to only buy used if original owner can provide ALL service records. also, DEFINATLEY spend the extra money for any kind of warranty they can offer. this could save some serious cash in the long run. i loved my 2001 1.8t until it crapped on me

 

After blowing up a motor/ tranny, I have a 99.5(best of the b5s, mind you) and i love it.

 

Guys i have no clue what most of you are talking about. I try to read the forums but im so out of it that i dont understand what most of the engine speks and such are. THats why im asking here to give me a little background information about the Audi A4.

engines:
2.8L (12 valve) V6 - 96-97 (172HP)
2.8L (30 valve) V6 - 98-01 (190HP)
3.0L V6 - 02-05 (???HP)
1.8T - 97-05 (in 00 they switched to drive-by-wire, in 01 they changed from 150HP to 170HP)
2.0T - 05.5 (pimp)

for the 2002 u have the 1.8t or the 3.0
the 1.8t has the most potential and if u want the 3.0 u need alot of money to get some power(superchareger)
