Default Able to identify car damage?

Hi, Was driving home today and managed to hit an already dead animal, seeing as my car is rather low the car in front didnt touch it however it put a large dent in something on the underneath of my car, anyone able to tell me from this photo what the dent is in? The car is making horrid grinding noises when it goes along now

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Looks like the tunnel for the exhaust is damaged and thats it. The noise could be the exhaust rubbing contiously.

thanks for such a quick response, sounds like good news to me to if it is just that, i touched the metal that is dented and it seemed pretty flexi so figured it wasn't anything too major. Just makes such a racket when going along, its in for a service on saturday so hopefully they will be able to take a look at it then! seems one of my exhaust brakets has been knocked off as well. grr animals

that would make it easy for the exhaust to hit the dented tunnel. Im sure if they just knocked it out of the way and fixed the hanger youll be fine.

I'd back you on that idea. For some reason when I got in my car awhile back, I heard a bang, and couldn't find anything obvious. When I started driving, I'd get a rubbing/grinding noise when I went over a bump. Turns out it was the hanger right before the muffler that had broken and the resonator was rubbing on the underbody. Seems like these cars really need all of their hangers or they start rubbing. I'm betting cincy's right - new hanger and a couple gentle whacks with a rubber mallet and you'll likely be fine.
