Default About to buy an A4 Quattro - PLEASE HELP - SERIOUS ADVICE NEEDED

Hey guys,

my friend is going back to hong kong and I have a few questions about the car that I'm about to buy

it is an 03 Audi A4 quattro with 12k miles

1) There's a faint stain above the driver's seat (is this from the moon roof sealant leaking? - if so is this covered by warranty?)
2) The modling next ot the 2 side mirrors by the window inside the car are loose // falling off - are these covered by warranty to be replaced
3) The windshield wipers work fine but no fluid comes out even though there is fluid in the reservoir - does warranty cover this or no?)
4) there's 2 little square cutouts in the bumper under the lights - they're supposed to be headlight washers but the guy said his car doesn't have them. Do all a4's come with this "cutout" even if they don't have the washers?
5) The seat controls on the side of the driver's seat is liek falling off (the entire panel) although the controls work fine. - is this covered by warranty?

I need to buy this car monday but want to know about all this before i buy it

also - are there any other things I should check for?

Is there a dealer inspection i should ask for? i know bmw does a 125 pt inspection at the dealership ... does audi do the same?

He's a friend of mine s won't really try to screw me over but I am a BMW owner and want to know about the little things on an audi - ppl say audis arnt reliable but i like this a4 quattro so i'm giving it a shot!

all comments are welcome

Second that ^

My 97' is perfect inside. and out. Everything works and nothing is "falling off". All those things were covered by standard warranty damn sure should have been fixed if the owner really took care of his car.

Well

1) This person has a reputation on campus for being obsessive about maintenance
2) The car is upkept by dealer in the region so that's not an issue
3) The issues are pretty minor ... the modling fallin goff - light broken etc (we play rugby so i know 2 of those things were broken by jackasses on the team)
4) The dealer is doing a FULL inspection next week

5) Now can you guys answer the question about the warranty?

He doesn't drive the car often so im assuming the washer issue is mechanical (problem with car)

and the 2 modling problems are his // ppl who ride int eh car's doing

anything i should look for?

The answer to your question is maybe. If the dealer determins that the problems arose due to a defect from the manufacture of the car and not from bonehead passengers braking stuff, it should be.

The washer system is probably just a blown fuse. It is probably marked wrong in the panel so if u already checked the fuses, u may have checked the wrong one. It is probably a 20 amp fues that shuold be replaced with a 25 or 30 ( the dealer told me this ). I would say that if you know the guy well and u know all the reasons for the small problems then go ahead and buy it.

If your getting the car at a real good deal then go for it. If the cars been sold at or near book value I'd pass though. I think those things are minor and can easily and inexpensively be fixed even without a dealer getting involved. As for as warranty goes it all depends on the stealership. Go directly to them and find exactly whats covered or not covered.
