Default RE: ABS + Brake Light?

I have a A4 1998 2.8L quattro.
Checked it with the computer and this is what came back; Any feedback?

"DTC 01203: INSTRUMENT PANEL ABS PUMP VOLTAGE SUPPLY.
Faul may be caused by the following:
- Open circuit or excessive resistance in circuit between instrument panel cluster and ABS control unit terminal No. 10.
- Malfunction in instrument panel cluster.

If no malfunction can be found check instrument cluster combination processor. "

Any suggestions???

lol, huh... this post just resurfaced with a different question asked from a new person....

but if thats the code your car pulled than it seems that something is messed up with your gauge clester (possibly behind it)

if both your ABS and BRAKE LIGHT are on, it happened to me once andthe problem was one of my ABS sensors was not hooked up correctly. I was a litte confused on what you were asking so i hope i helped...

My ABS light is now permanently on and I hear a beep when I start the engine, however my brakes are working fine.
My car loves to burn oil as well

Make sure your ABS wheel sensors are clean.

Thanks, I will have a look this evening, I will also top up the brake fluid. If that fails I will take Dave'sadvice, and change the pads (The rear pads were changed a few months ago, so there can't be too much wear left in the front ones)
