I have the same problem...... I just got used to living with it for awhile, I think it is one of the wheel speed sensors, probably needs cleaning or replacement.............

could be anything from a bad abs unit to a tear or bad ground in a wire

Your ABS unit needs rebuilt. There are a lot of places that will do it for a couple hundred dollars. A new one from the dealer is ~ 1000 dollars

If you don't mind nothaving ABS, its no big deal.

^^actually it can be an easy fix, just a little soldering of a connection in the controller usually.. if the light comes on and it beeps three times when you turn the key to on before the car's even started, more than likely it's the controller... if you can't connect to it w/ vagcom to check for codes, it's MOST DEFINITELY theABS controller

here is a write-up on how to fix the usual problem with the controller

Got the same problem but I just ignore it because the brakes work fine. I recently went to a salvage yard and its 150 for a used one. But it comes with the entire ABS (hydraulic side included) which I don't need. I figured I could just replace the controller instead of having it rebuilt or worse going to the stealership. $150 isn't bad huh, what do you guys think?
