Default ABS Light

Anyone ever have thereABS light come on with the brake light flashing and beeping? Mine has been doing that on and off. I wanted to get a rough idea on what is wrong before I go have the dealer check it out.

For future reference always post model info: 2003 1.8t etc.

Flashing is always bad, means that you ABS is not working - I would get it checked out ASAP - might be a bad controler.

Having the same problem.. I had some tips to check out first..vag the car obviously

but could just be low brake fluid..or a faulty speed sensor or a brake light switch

lets hope its not the ABS for both our sakes..big $$ close to $2000 to replace

if you go to the dealer or find anything out post up ..I will do the same

ABS and BRAKE light at the same time usually means the controller is bad. Try to activate your abs by stomping on the brakes sometime and if they dont activate then its the controller. Scan for codes of course.

Bad ABS controller. That BBA site looks pretty good. Most people seem to use www.modulemaster.com $250 and a 5 year warranty
