Iam looking to replace the ABS pump unit myself on my 2000 A4. Does anybody have any experience with this ? My Chilton maual says leave it to the dealer, since it is easy to get air in the lines.The installation looks simple and I am guessingif you fill the new pump with fluid before connecting the lines and do a good brake line flush you should be good without any air in the lines.

Any information here would be much appreciated

Remove the wheel liner and washer tank, pull the lines, unbolt the pump, and replace. Pretty straight forward really, just bleed the system thoroughly afterwards. Get a bentley manual also.

 

sure you dont need the abs control module?
