If i take a corner fast and start accelerating out of it, the brake warning (saying BRAKE with a big exclimation mark) comes up on the display.

Is this something to worry about(sumthing wrong with brakes) or is it the stability system kicking in and warning me to take it easy?

anyone else experienced this?

 

check the fluid level but it just sounds like its telling you to ease off the breaks a little

 

i checked fluid which is fine,

thing is i dont touch the brakes, i'm actually accelerating when the warning comes up with beeps. after 3 or 4 seconds it goes away

 

this sounds like your hitting the speed limit for that type of corner and a wheel could be of the ground which would effect the ABS and traction if you have it, check for fault codes

 

Did the ABS light go on as well? Maybe a connection is loose and the G-forces made it act up...

 

yeh the abs light comes on aswell, starts cutting power etc. I was just worried whether that warning ment there was actually some thing wrong with car and its telling me to brake.

i havent tried repeating it with the abs cos its a bit risky doing that on the wet streets of london

 

It starts cutting power? Maybe it's the ESP kicking in? On my B6 there's a separate light for ESP (a yellow triangle), is yours a B5?

Maybe it's indicating a problem with the ESP. Have you tried pulling codes?

 

yeh sorry by abs i ment the esp, slip of the tounge. (mine is b6)

the yellow triangle light starts flashing, starts cutting power to the front wheels, and soon after i get the brake warning coming on the display. I know the esp (or ecs as its labled on my a4) kicks in if you start to do silly things on the road, but the brake warning coming on the displayed worried me abit cos i'm thinking the car couldnt be that concerned with my saftey that it starts to tell me to brake.

My concern was mainly whether this was a problem somewhere.

Have you experinced this before?
