it is 5400 with non oem parts too, some of those are recycled parts, so if everything was brand new out of box it would be more

again without pix i can't tell, and i would that if it is fixed i wouldn't want it anyways, looks like from the estimate there is alot of front end/maybe some underneath damage, and that is just by looking alot of times they find stuff when they start pulling stuff off

you could ask the insurance company what they would charge you to buy it from them, then part out the good stuff

i know a guy that bought a civic "totaled it", he bought it for about 800, they gave him 2500 for it, he bought it back for like 1200, fixed it and drove it......... but that is not the case here, do you owe anything? if not you could sell the seats, motor, any good parts off the car..... and probably have cash left over

Yes, believe it or not, I still owe about $6,000 on it (which would probably be the totaled-cost). So I cannot afford to total it out because I would have nothing left to buy another vehicle with. I was in contact with a friend who works for another collision place and he said that there's a good chance that he might be able to fix it for less, thus not having my vehicle totaled.

We shall see!!!

just like u say "U still owe about $6000 on it" total it and will owe another 6000 on another car....
sorry i dont get it...
I would understand if insurance would pay u 6000 to get it fixed and u fixed it for 3 or 4k… then yeah… but to save under $1000 and have salvage car + u have no idea how much time it would take to fix it… i wouldn’t do it…

actually, if you get it totaled, you won't/shouldn't have to pay the 6 to buy it back, just 6 to pay it off
