Default Adaptive drive reset?

Can someone direct me to the thread that talks about how to reset the "learned" drive programming? I can't find it and I know I read it! (forgot how to do it)

I dont know what you are talking about, but try disconnecting your battery for 30 mins. That should reset everything. List your yr/engine type/specifics when asking questions.

'03 a4 1.8T Q. I remember reading about reseting the progrm that remember how you drive and that sometimes it is good to do. Something like key on off sequence or whatever. I swear i'm not crazy! I know I am just not explaining it right.

I really dont know if this is what you are referring to, but do you mean the concept that the auto tranny adapts its shifting tendencies around your driving tendencies? Are you auto?

O it's the adaptive drivign thing

1) Turn car to on (electronic on not engine)
2) Step on gas pedal all the way down (floor it) for 10 seconds
3) Keep the pedal down and turn the car off (you'll hear clicking sounds)
4) let go of the gas

this will reset the computer adaptive driving memory thing - but it'll relearn it regardless so do it once every 2-3 weeks
