So the window regulator or something like that in my driver side door needs replacing. I was putting my window up, and it started to grind and then I heard a snap / pop sound. I managed to get the window up, with sme grinding, and my mechanic says that X parts need to be replaced. This is fine, and to the tune of about 500 bucks after tax and with labour included. NOW they have called me stating that the weather strip, when removed from the door, has ripped. They said the clips on it usually break when it is removed, but the actually stripping has geared, thus requiring I either get a new weather strip, or they repair the old one to the best of their ability. Is this legit, and common, or am I being taken for a ride?
