Default Aftermaket cat and CEL

I have a quattro 2.8 30v 1998 (engine code AHA).

Both cats on my car are rattling really bad so I need to replace them. I don't want to put original parts on it because obviously they're too expensive. I just want to get 2 universal cats or high flow cats, weld them and be done with it. What I'm worried the CEL. Is it going to light up with two aftermarket cats? If any of you guys have any experience with these kind of cats let me know.

I don't care about emissions test because I live in canada and we don't have them yet. I just don't want the CEL.

I'm completely stock right now, I don't want the CEL to light, it annoys me alot for some reason. If a HFC will light up the CEL, is a "normal" universal cat going to be ok?
