Default aftermarket stereo wiring harness.

I tried the search and found a few wiring harness' but all of the ones I found were either for the bose or incompatible with a 2001 A4. So does anyone know what wiring harness I need to install an aftermarket radio in my 2001 A4? I would like to finally install my avn6610, but I would prefer not to cut up the factory wiring harness.

Thanks
James

there are 2 ways to get it done 1 get a metra 70-1787 and the bose adapter (not sure what model # it is) and wire it up if you done get the bose/syphony adapter your rear speakers will not work since they are amped but the draw back to this method is that the rear speaker will not be as loud as the fronts but you can use the fader on the deck to balance it out. opition #2 this is the better and cheaper way to done it but it does that a little more work get to the rear speakers like you where going to replace (great time to replace rear speakers if not done yet) and run speaker wires from the green (+) green and black (-) and the purple (+) purple and black (-) from the deck to the rear speakers it is a pretty easy run if you have an idea on how to take your car apart. by doing this it does a couple of different things for you 1 the front and rear will play equally and you will not have to diconnect the bose/syphony adapter ever time you pulg your vag it. if you need the rear speaker adapters to replace the rear speakers let me know by pming me i have them that where used for about 5 mins since i figured out that i didn't need them since my polk momo's fit just fine.

if you dont want to cut the plug or terminals off of the wires you can always just cut back the insulation and splice into them.

you get the harness if you got the changer or not it was so when the car was bought new and wanted to pay for the factory cd changer all the techs had to do was mount the cd changer and plug it in
