Gangsters refer to ppl that are in a gang...........in my experience most gang members are African American but then you have the Mexican gang, the Puerto Rican gang, the Asian gang.........and the list goes on and on......but I have yet to hear of a white gang other than the KKK and the KKK doesn't pop into my head as being gangster.
Mobsters refer to ppl that are part of the mob / organized crime. Mobsters are just high class gangsters. They include the Italian Mafia / Mob (i.e. the white gangsters you are refering to), the Chinese Triad, and the Japanese Yakuza; just to name a few.
Just wanted to clarify.

your an idiot... i seriously wanna steal your car for posting such a stupid thread...
tint is amazing.... the darker the better... it keeps a ton of heat out of your interior and it doesnt look "gangster" it looks nice, it allows the body lines of the car to be seen better and over all it makes the car look a lot more luxurious....
if you dont want tint than just rip it off... if you know how to take a sticker off than im sure you can peel off tint, good luck with your dash in two years when it starts cracking from all the heat its getting because you thought your tint looked too "gangster"... that seriously kinda offends me.

There is a big difference between being a gangster and being gangsta(pop da colla) - I think of blacked out car as more gangsta than gangster - maybe if you put gun turret in the door pannel that would be more gangster.

Actually, not quite - your description is far too narrow and only points to the current definition of these terms.
Mobsters were gangsters. What do you think the mob started out as? Suits and lawyers running casinos? No, american mobsters started out as gangs of thugs racketeering and booze-running before and during prohibition. They were gangs - but they evolved into gangs that figured out how to organize and make legitimate money to fund criminal enterprise.
As far as the historic image of a gangster goes, the gun totin' punk of today does not fit the image. He is a "gangsta". He plays on image and juice. Hence the "gangsta" of black tint.
Personally, limo tint only looks good in certain instances. I don't like it and neither do a lot of people. And if you wanna get insulted because I have an optinion AteURV8, then I suggest you find a way to deal with your anger, cuz that gonna happen a lot in life.

Gangster
True my def. is current but that's what it was meant to be. I know that mobsters didn't start out as organized crime gangs. They did used to be very unorganized.
(It's me, the OP, but not the OG) -- I have had tint on a number of my cars, including a late model Jetta and Passat. The Passat was a dark metallic grey, and the tint I got, not sure the specs, but i think it was called platinum. Not a mirror tint, but more of a silvery color that blended well with the grey paint.
However, on my A4, the car is also silver, but the new tint -- as sharp and quality as the job looks -- is black. It tends to bring out more of the black components, like the tires, and not so much the paint. If I could wave a wand, I'd have it done in platinum like the Passat.
The jury is still out on this tint job. It looks well done, and it may just take a bit for my eye to get used to, having had silver/platinum tint on my other cars.
P.S. If I can find pics of the previous Passat I'll post 'em -- now ThAT car of mine was ghangsta cause I had 18" rims and lowered with K&H, but the tint was still elegant had the car been stock.
