Default Air Conditioning- 96 A4

Hi Guys,

I bought a 1996 A4 last fall, and now that it is getting warmer I realize that the air conditioning does not work. I cannot find a low pressure port on the car to charge it. Could this be done, or does it have to be done by a professional. If it does, any idea of the cost? Thanks.

Nick

pop your hood and look in the rear pass. corner of the engine bay....there should be a sticker there saying what kind yours is...you should be able to charge it yourself. i would tell you where the lp port is but my bentley isn't working for me right now...

True, you have to fill through the high pressure side. I would also recommend a mechanic for this.

Charging an AC system through the high pressure side can be dangerous.
