Default Air Conditioning Compressor life span a4 1.9 tdi

On a A4 b6 1.9 TDI how long should an air con compressor last if it has not been working on a car? Do the internal parts/seals seize up or rot if the car air con has not been run in a few years?

I'm looking to take one off a scrap car that hasn't had working aircon for a few years (g65 pressure sensor fault) but has worked previously and has had a previous regass/service etc...

If i drop it from the car what test can you run to make sure it's still good? cheers

No real life expectancy. A shop can test your compressor.

Hi, man! I don't think you will find the proper test to do in this case, and maybe you won't do it correctly. I am not a master in this domain, and even I am a man, lol, but I would recommend calling a specialist. He will tell you the right solution and all the steps, and for sure will help you. Every time I have problems with the central air conditioning compressor, I turn to a team of specialists. They explain the situation and fix it very carefully. You can call them or another team. Just don't do it yourself.
