everyone claims that the air box is just fine as is. well they are right but if you must have an intake make sure it comes with a heatshield. you may also want to check out the sticky link on top about the intake box mod. search this topic its been covered a bunch.

You cant go wrong with the Box mod at the top of the page. But ill be honest with you. I have a Carbonio intake System, and i love it. I would also suggest a Diverter Valve. Forge 007.
i would Check out ECSTuning.com, FixxTunning.com and Aprperformance.com, thats whom has given me the most help. ECS is the best though, and there customer service department is really good, and knows what there talking about, so no bullshit.

Carbonio though is the way to go.

carbonio makes a bad *** intake but if you dont wana spend $300 the airbox mod will work very well with just a K&N filter and will sound great with a forge DV

i gotta say, i love the moding that he did on top of the page, and ive seen videos of him driving the car before and after, but i dont wanna to mess up the box by cutting a hole in it, any ways, i was looking for intake that is around 100-120$, not 300$, is there any where that i can get a seperate, heat shield for it?

you make one. and dont be worried about hacking your airbox. you can get them cheap from people who buy intakes for theirs. an intake on our cars is bad. the turbo is right there and its 1000 degrees. so hot air gets sucked in. the stock box is efficient. w/ airbox mod you'll hear a nice growl and DV add an exhaust and you'll be set. heat soak from the turbo is going to slow you down bro.

i highly doubt that ur gona mess it up, and even if you do go grab another off an audi sittin in a junkyard, they're mad cheap. the only intake i would suggest puttin in is a carbonio intake. until you can afford that just mod the airbox.

Does the carbonio even add a sound? It looks like a stock intake box just CF and a bit sleaker....

any pics of what is inside the box? Is it a cone or drop in filter?

I have wondered about this for a while now

yup its louder than stock air box. and it adds a little hp+tq. its made of carbon fiber which is a lot better than plastic. u really think they would make any money if their products didnt work? especailly chargin 300 bux. heres what they say it does:
-Increases Horsepower and Torque
-Improves Throttle Response
-Decreases Turbo 'Lag'
-Flattens Torque Curve (engine is less 'peaky')
-Improves Fuel Economy
-Enhances Engine's Volumetric Efficiency
-Enhances Sound of Turbo Diverter Valve
-Works with All Aftermarket Diverter Valves
-Unique Thermal Barrier Composite Construction Ensures Low Inlet Temperatures

edit: and one of my friends has one in their b5 and the dv is def. louder
