is there an airbagin the pillar on a 1999 A4 1.8T? i know there is on the "later model A4s" but is 1999 a later model

 

nope, the 99.5's dont even have them, they mean 00 and up

it would have one of those little airbag tag on it if it did

Some of the older audis will have side airbags in the seat. The seat is marked with an airbag label. Curtain airbags were only available on new cars.

 

curtain air bags make me feel safe lol, seriously tho i plan on never needing to use mine, but i definately have them and it kinda eases the soul a little bit

 

My 1999.5 has pillar air bags or at least there is a tag on them.

speaking of curtain airbags, one of the Q7's that came in totaled in the dealer was T boned and that curtain saved the people inside from the flying pieces of glass. it deployed fast enough to deflect the broken glass from hitting the people in the vehicle. it did its job well.
