Default Alarm Problem - what to do?

Hi all, hope everyone is doing ok. I need help with my alar,. I recently bought a 2003 A4, 1.8T and for some reason when I press the panic button the lights flash but the horn does not sound. The other day I tried getting into the car without disabling the alarmand it did not go off but the lights were flashing as if triggered. Can anyone shed some light into this.

Thanks
Osmer

Hi Johnny - no it does not sound when I press any other button. It does not sound the horn at all. The regular horn does work though.

did it ever sound? meaning when you got the car did the horn or a horn sound when you unlocked the car? Im not sure with audi's but with some cars the alarm is optional, you may only have remote door locks. Or is posible the alarm horm got disconected or is no longer good. if it never sounded mean when you bought the car it never made a beep it also could have been turned off, im almost positive if can be shut off with a vag-com tool. there is also a button on you drivers side, side pillar (the one inbetween the front seet and rear seat) towards the botton that turns off the sensors for the alarm, im not sure if it also turns off the beep but its worth a shot

No idea - I bought the car preowned and did not bother with it at first. I still have the moroony label so it does include the alarm according to the label that was once in the car when it was new. I guess the previous owner may have disconnected it. Where would the hor for the alarm be in reference to the regular horn?

the button inside just turns off the interior motion sensor, i know one time i went to lock my car, and didnt get the muted wet fart sound, and i couldnt figure it out for the life of me, then i went out for a cig later, and notice that my hood wasnt close the whole way, i pushed it down and it made the sound... kind of unnerving that my hood just randomly came unlatched
