Alignment cost?
Does anyone think that $150 for a 4 wheel alignment is a good price? This includes toe adjustment? What does that mean-toe?? I know what the camber is, but what does the toe do? Sorry for the newb question, this is from a euro shop to do this.. Just about 2 hours labor is what they say.
toe is how much the wheel angles in towards the front of the car, pivoting on the y-axis...150 seems pretty high....iirc, my dealership quoted me 120, and a euro shop was like 90...i might be wrong though
Good info, thanks... I think i need my toe adjusted because my car doesnt always drive straight.. Sometimes it seems like the tires will "grab" and vere to one side or the other and i have to correct it. I dont see an alignment on the bentley service schedule so im sure it is something done as needed, i dont know if this car has ever had an alignment.. The steering wheel is pretty much center when driving straight, its just that it sometimes goes out of alignment for a second-like the car sort of swerves by itself-slightly.
Tie rods/control arms seem tight and dont make noise-bushings look good.

have you done any work on your suspension? messing with the control arms, tie rods & ends, shocks or springs will almost always require an alignment afterwards

Has stock sport shocks/springs.
alignment can be thrown off by anything...even too much acceleration on a tight turn can throw it off...i STRONGLY recommend getting it done at your dealership though, audi alignments are different from any other car, they're pretty tricky and someone not experienced enough probably wont get it as good as it should be.
150 is average to high.
I paid $115 at a Euro specific mechanic. Of course I am in Indiana - if you're in Cali or a major center like Chicago or something it is probabaly more expensive to start with.
