the abs, brake and oil light just went on at the same time.... the traction control wouldnt go on and the rpm gauge went off........it was on all day and on my way home it went off...... would it have stored a code???? i'll put the vag com tomorrow... it's a b5 passat v6 btw... 5speed....

I had a problem similar to that on my Audi 90. Turned out the alternator was shot. That could be your problem. Is your volt meter reading anything above 12 volts while the car is running? Do you find it difficult to start?

Yeah most likely your alternator. My friends A4 did that and it was a bad alt. We had to jump start it 7 times to get it back to my place. (Would run then die) Hopefully that doesn't happen to you. It wasn't fun.
