not sure but i feel there is one more thing that should be changed when you do all of this
since the 1.8T's speed gaughe only goes untill 160mph/260Km
you will need a change for this also RS4 maybe ?
i know my so far still stock 1.8T has 190Hp makes it to 245 Km i think maybe 250 never tried , but since it only goes untill 260 any of the serious HP upgrades makes your meter go out of reach
Not sure about European models but our speedo goes to 160mph. On a stock 1.8T transmission, 160 would put you somewhere in the neighborhood of 8,000rpm. Anyway, your stock speedo is more than sufficient.

really ? my 1.8T has 190HP as i mentioned , and gets to 240-250Km's
the gauges go to 260Km's thats probably 160 Mph if i am not mistaking

so lets say i do a ECU 1+ APR upgrade , Turbo upgrade i should have some serious HP gain
which also mean a faster top speed , which should most likely max out my speed gauges
and the RPM would be always in red therefor you would not know how much RPM you actualy make

or am i mistaking here ?

My APR chipped '99.5TQM tops out at between 135-140mph (216-224kph) depending on the conditions. So basically you're saying you've gone 245kph (153mph) in a stock 1.8T. That must have been one hell of a hill.

lol afraid there was no hill involved
straight line road , no up no down
240-250 Kph is what i did with it and it was not redlined yet
and according to the garage it is not chipped just a stock 1.8T FWD with 190Hp
dont know how much HP your 99.5 TQM has stock and right now with APR chip

but this is how mine is

hmm well i guess thats pretty damn odd then
i assume yours had 150 or 163 stock ?
but even so 190 and a newer type of engine i think should not do that
makes me curious what actually causes me to get those speeds on a stock car

Your guage isn't entirely relable at high speeds. What size wheels/tires do you have?

he must be run 33s to get that kind of speed LOL. Or maybe the euorpean trannys have different gearing. If this is the case, then I'm very jealous.

17inch wheels
but i dont think its a difference
older cars had this issue when you had bigger wheels the speed gauge was not reliable anymore
but now they got a sensor or something that avoids this when having bigger tires

oh and btw its a manuel 6gear
