Default Aluminum Dash Trim Kit

I know this has been discussed before, but I'm wondering what everyone thinks of this dash trim kit on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Audi-...57502388QQrdZ1

It looks like it goes right over the old trim, which is fine as long as it looks good when it's done. What do you guys think? Is this just a crappy kit with the price jacked through the roof, or would I actually be getting what I pay for?

It sure seems like ebay offers some slim pickings as far as interior trim goes - is there somewhere else I can look? I really just want a quality brushed aluminum trim kit (fully replacing the old wood trim if possible). Anyone already been down this road?

Thanks for the tip - I actually checked them out earlier but it looks like they don't offer a brushed aluminum kit (they have something for the console, but nothing that would replace the existing wood trim).

No don't do it. I made the mistake of getting that same thing in carbon fiber and it sucks. If you want that look go here. http://www.exoticwooddash.com/coating.asp this is going to cost you more money but is gonna look much better. when you buy a watch would you want one with a gold sticker on it or one that was gold plated. Obviously the gold plated one, this place will cover your entire OEM piece with one of their optional material types. I have seen this done in a GTI at evolution motorsports and it is AWESOME. If you want to save money do what your doing, but I'm telling you don't half *** this. Do it right the first time, I already made that mistake.

you can even give them your paint code and they will coat it in your matching paint color. Having all your accent pieces look and feel like colormatched fiberglass is pretty bitchin

even in the auction it says, "you get what you pay for."

for $239, you sure as hell shouldn't expect much.

trust me i have that adhesive backed crap in my car, it seemed cool when I got it I liked it four about 2 days then wished I had never put it on. The full overlay is the only way to go. applying these kits right is damn near impossible. once it touches the plastic surface, nothing is moving it, if your off by a mm on one side it is gonna show BIG TIME and there is no way to shift it. Its a pain and will end up just costing you more time and money. dish out the cash for the overlay it looks and feels professional, the kit looks and feels autozone!!!!!
