What altitude are you at? I know with mine I redline 2nd up at 7,000 ft at 53-55. When I go to sea level I redline 2nd at 60-63. My gears are tall but I believe the 2.8 tranny's are geared differently.

From what I have learned the 2.8's have higher gears, yes.
