See man. I cant do any trimming. I dont have any tools. AND I MEAN ANY!!!. I saw the VALEO ones at lltek.com and YES they do look sweeet, but I live in the GTA area and I dont want to buy them and then take them to one of those shops that install parts like that because I dont know if they have experience with AUDI'S. So I am in a bind. I have to find a good MOD SHOP in GTA that can install aftermarket AUDI stuff for me. I dont want to take my (eventually when i purchase them, EXHAUST SYSTEM, BRAKE KITS, LIGHTS) to any mechanic or to AUDI.

hi. brand new to this forum. just got my a4 a couple nights ago. been looking into the headlights.
just a word of advice about ur HID systems..
i would definitely reccomend using a wiring harness that runs straight from the battery to power the bulbs. i have a 98 honda prelude with an audi tt projector retrofit and have done a couple retrofits to headlights, and have worked with HID's a lot, all oem parts. i have actually heard some stories about people frying their stock harnesses from wiring the bulbs to them instead of using an adapter wiring harness. yea hid bulbs use 35w compared to 55w halogens, but when they initially fire up and u observe the cold blue to solid white color change, they use 5 or 6 times more power to get started and then run down to 35w. i made my wiring harness myself but u can find them several places online, suvlights.com is a good one.
this is an excellent site and where i intially learned all i needed to know about retrofitting, hid systems, and lighting in general.

a question about the ECE spec headlights. did u have to buy the ones with xenon projectors or did u just get the ones with halogen projectors and plug the hid's into those with the h7 adapaters? if the halogen projectors work just as well i might as well get those.

My .02, i'd get those angel eyes if you are willing to do some custom work.
Toss those puppys in the oven to seperate the lense, get rid of all the POS glue that those cheapos come with, and reseal em yourself. Tada! no more fogging or leaking if you did it right, if not, there's no one to blame but urself. I'd also smoke the hell outta the angel eye ring while you have the lense off, toning down the angel eye look while still leaving a mean glow. I just like the 3 bulb look the those headlights have, it's different, and i love it.
once again, just my .02.
