I just bought a used 1999 A4 2.8 Quattro and a warning 'chime' keeps going off every time I start the car. Also when I open any door the interior lights don't come on. The lights do come on when I use the remote and all the door switches seem to work OK.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I start ripping off door panels to look for broken wires ???

 

the first on is the oh so annoying belt chime
u can remove them wit a VAGCOM

 

the interior light switches have a 3 way setting check them right next to the oh sh*t handels

 

Thanks for the tips, but alas I don't have a VAGCOM and the nice guys at the Audi dealership want $80 just to hook for me. The interior lights do work when I take the key out of the ignition and the footwell lights come on when I open the driver door. WORST OF ALL - at night when I put the headlights on the chime goes into overdrive and stays on constant. HELP?
