Just have a question for you guys. I'm a recent first time Audi owner. So far so good, I truly can't get over the amount of car you get for the $.

I just bought a 2001 A4 1.8T Avant with the sport package. (43K miles) I just had the coolant flushed, front CV boots replaced and the under engine shield added. According to my mechanic I should be good to go.

However driving to work today I noticed a kind of broken ringing sound coming from the dash board only when cornering. It's pretty constant and won't seem to go away. I know this description could not be more vague but it's all I got. Anyone experience anything like this?

Was it mechanical or electronic? Maybe you need new/more power steering fluid.

 

It sounds electronic to me. Power steering fluid is fine. I can't figure it out.

 

Noises are very hard to diagnose over the internet?

Have someone in the passenger seat try to locate the noise. Turn off all the electronics heater, etc. Turn off the headlights.

Try to pinpoint the noise location and give a better description, pitch, constancy,
