Yeah, I think so - although he keeps closing posts before I can get my own hilarious $0.02 in!

If you really need to adjust your sunroof you need to open it (poptop) and removed the plastic guards over the hinged arms. Then adjust the position of the pivot.

The tool Jestnomen is referring to is the manual open/close crank tool, which is good to use if your switch won't close the roof all the way.

I have a problem wit my moon roof also, when i cruise 40 the wind that goes through my sun roof and makes a howling noise that like pulsating and kinda hurts the ears, is there any ways to fix it
This is the same principle as blowing air into a beer bottle. VW beetles have been known to make incredibly loud noise like this. If you change the size of the opening, it stops on my A4. I drive with it two notches away from totally open, otherwise it makes noise.

yeah my avant is worse for this than my sedan. My sedan had no problem with the sunroof slid open and all windows closed, but the Avant needs to have the sunroof not slid back quite all the way.

Thanks guys so much for the info...I used the adjustment tool and found where the crank is, and now it's flush after a few turns. This is a great thing to know, since it has happened 4-5 times already I'm sure it will happen again!

Brrman: I'm from indy, but now live in Boston...think I might move back at some point, the weather sucks here but quattro does pretty well with the snow. Go colts!

Inside your fuse panel should be a sunroof adjustment tool. If you look near your sunroof controls there is a little plastic square that pops off. Use the tool to adjust the sunroof to a position where it no longer leaks.
Will this trick also fix the problem where the front of the sunroof panel doesn't seem to closed flush with the roof?

I believe audiboy1618 is the master of sunroof problems. He just solved the case of the magical extra cheesy dorito in the railing of Brian's car.

okay this is my first posting. I will be quick. I am having an emergency. I have an 1996 A4 2.8 that the electric sunroof is stuck open, and it is pouring down rain as I write this. I just bought this car. It has no manual. Can you tell me where the fuse box is specifically and where the hand crank to close the sunroof is?

The fuse box is in the driver's side dashboard, if you open the drivers side door and look at the panel on the side of the dash you'll see a little slot where you can stick your key and twist to pop the cover off. The tool (which looks like a fat allen wrench) is on the inside of the cover.
