Another "what about this car post"
Alright guys, im really interested in this audi and i went and checked it out and loved it. It drove smooth and didnt hear any noises. Its from a private dealer and here is a little description of the car: 2002 A4 1.8 Turbo.
The interior was really clean and so was the engine. The timing belt look almost brand new and it has new tires. There are a couple of things, the wheels were scratched, it was missing a small panel in the rear passenger side, and the back of the drivers seat was coming apart a little. He was asking for $17.5 before but now is asking $14.5. The only other thing is that it has 79k miles. Its everything i want in a Audi except for the miles, and no warranty. what do you think?
Thanks guys

How exactly were you able to see the condition of the timing belt??? I think you could do better as far as mileage and price go... So by saying "its everything i want in an audi"-You are looking for a high mileage 4 yr old car with scratched wheels and interior thats coming appart with a missing pannel?????? I dont get it/?... I think you can do better.

What kinds of things can you expect to go wrong for that year car and that many miles?
suspension is the main thing i can think of...a few thousand dollars.
also, if the timing belt hasn't been fixed...that could be 500 dollars.
you have to understand, with german cars things are crazy expensive.
anything = very, very expensive.
70k on the clock is nothing for the engine, but for the rest of the car, random things just start to need replacing.
if you buy that car, you will be spending thousands in the next few years on repairs guaranteed.

Ninja,
Are you mechanically inclined? If so go for it.
If not, go for it if you are prepared for high maintenance costs.
I bought mine knowing I could do anything short of internal engine work myself. The parts aren't really that expensive, but the labor is high as hell.

they never showed the back of the car, i'd be kinda suspicous about that...kinda like how people will park a car on the side of the road with a for sale sign bit keep the good side out and the cracked up side hidden. EVERYONE IS OUT TO GET YOU [
