i have a 97 a4 and im wondering if i can just hook the hids up to the stock housing or do i need to make any special mods to make them work propoerly??

where did you buy the hids from?

 

its plug and play, all connectors should fit together.. and the bulbs ahould pop right in to your factory location

 

i bought the hids from visionbulbs 8000k 200 bucks cuz i said i was an audiforums member how sick is that

 

I thought you weren't supposed to put HIDs in the old style 2 piece headlights? something to do with the fact that they aren't projector style headlights, so the bright light from the HIDs won't be focused on the road, meaning you'll blind everyone else.

yes. like I said, projectors focus the beam of light on the road. your headlights are the old style ones, which just scatter the light over the road. when you make them brighter, you essentially look like you have your high beams on all the time, which pisses people off, and gets you in trouble with the cops sometimes.
