Default another plug question

so i put the 3prong NGKs in my car that I bought from the local german speed shop and now my car has a little bit more rough idle than before. Im thinking about taking them out and putting the ngk vpowers(1.89) at advanced. Also I have a chip if that matters. 99.5 a4 quattro 1.8t thanks

The 3 prong ngk's are iridium arent they? Those arent recomended in our cars.. What is recomended is a copper plug (for chipped) which is : NGK BKR6E gapped at .028
Any plug that has more than 1 prong isnt good for our chipped engines because they need to be gapped down and thats kind of hard to do with a more than one prong. Copper plugs disipate heat better too, which means less missfire/preignition.

yes, i did. But all I got was numbers and all advance was telling me was v-power or platinums so it didnt really help. Anyway I went to advance and go the v-powers ( AKA bkr6e's) and they work great. Gaped at .028. Thanks anyways onepoint8tee.

I kinda thought that Daft's post in that thread was rather specific:

"Platinum and Iridium plugs are not a viable solution becuase they have a very narrow center electrode which is far more prone to misfires even if you tighten the gap. A copper single-ground plug like the NGK BKR6E is the best plug for this application due to it's price and availability"

Glad you worked out your rhough idle!

Here is what Mike Romano at AWE told me about plugs:
"I would first suggest getting rid of those plugs. We have done all the testing with the Bosch F7LTCR. We have seen multiple running issues with have been chased back to the plugs. GIAC does not recommend any other plug..."

I had in the NGK BKR7E plugs. The F7LTCR is a three prong copper plug. If you want multiple electrodes it's the way to go. The copper core is just as big as the NGK plugs, so you get similar heat dissipation characteristics.

Had those plugs to and my car car missfired more with the bosch's in than the 7e's but im far past chipped. Thing is with those plugs you can't change the gap any so your kinda stuck with a shitty $6-7 plug. I ran the bkr6e's when i ran giac k03 software and it was fine not one missfire.
