Default any ideas to help restore a 2.8l 30v that has miles?

i have a 98.5 2.8l 30v QM. with 127k . before i start the little list of mods possible for the 2.8 what kind of general maintenence should i do that would help restore it to its original power. b/c after 127k its obvious its lost alot of hp. i used some gumout regane for 2 treatments and like the results . but now i think i'm looking for into things such as replacing or cleaning anything to help. i love the car and want to put money into things that count before things i just want.

You should supercharge it.. I know what your thinking... What the hell is this guy redgoat talking about... well let me tell ya buddy!!!

Get a supercharger and turn it up.. now with this high pressure It will blow the carbon off of the valves and pistons.. viola! Clean Engine.. ok well maybe not..

i dont think miles will reduce hp unless the car has been abused. just make sure the timing belt has been done.
check and fix all leaks. i heard this stuff called seafoam is good, maybe try that.

yeah i've heard about sea foam too... but i was told to replace my spark plugs after using that b/c it is kinda rough of them if you use a couple treatments. and it has brand new spark plugs in it so i dont really want to do that.

i was reading and thinking about cleaning the throttle body and ICV and changing the fuel filter. however i can only seem to find instructions for the 12v and a 99. i'm not sure if either of those will work i assume the 30v would be diff then the 12v.

Lots of folks on PassatWorld and BobIsTheOilGuy.com swear by Auto-RX for general engine cleaning.
