Didn't someone already say that you actually do have keyless entry, you just need to buy the keys, have them cut, then program them yourself using the already supplied and simple instructions?

Well, I've just now looked it up again, and according to Cars.com remote keyless entry on a '96 was optional. I'd still say take it in to the dealer and have them check it out and see if the car has it, and then you can just get a new OEM remote instead of fiddling around with an aftermarket setup. If the dealership tells you the car does not already have remote keyless entry, then go ahead and do the aftermarket thing - looks like a decent setup.

Yeah, I'd verify that it isn't actually there before buying the kit. My old car didn't have power locks, only it really did but it just didn't have the power lock button on the doors!

Any word on if any of those kits work on a 96 A4? I'm thinking about the flip key kit
