ok i tried a search but didnt find anything so here i go...i have a 1998 A4 1.8T Tip
recently my car has been vibrating and making a knocking/clunking (only out of turns) noise when it accelerates...i thought it was just bad gas (cuz thats what happened before), but not this time...i put in the gas that i usually did...
and also...my turbo, when it is spooling up, makes a really loud noise, like marbles being rolled around in a jar or something, could that mean its going bad?

any help would be great...thanks

 

the cranking noise is it coming from the front of ur car or the back and the marbel sound mean u really need a new turbo.

 

Hallmark should make a get well soon card for audis....

My car had the same prob, and the guy who had it before me spent 2k at dealer

I am just about posative your turbo is toast, out of curiosity, how many miles are on it(the first one on my car lasted to 70k)?...

They noise when turning could be your CV Joints and if your turbo sounds like wat you say , then i would suppose its sucked in something it shudnt have.Its gotten off balance, meybe bent turbine fins.

 

hmm...yeah my car has just about 100k miles...so that might be a problem
but idk...if im gonna get a new turbo, ill prolly go K04, cuz i dont wanna spend a bunch on a new turbo if i need one
but the thing is...i need money....hmm
