i just disconnected the MAF and took the car for a drive, it seems a lot quicker.. the drive of the car feels different, it seems as though with the MAF connected i have a major power loss....
does this mean the maf is faulty....

Thats a tuffy... Dont take it there by the way... I dont know if the MAF are the same with the 1.8t as yours, but if you could find someone close to you, you could swap MAF to see what happens so you dont have to buy one... Just dont take it to the dealer even though they could figure it out prettty quick.. You will pay the price of a new MAF for what they will charge you to just diagnose it.. Have fun good luck.

its weird lol its like asking them when you are buying dont put the turbo on my car lol
