I'm new at the VCDS thing. I've replaced coil packs, sparkplugs, some vaccumm hose. I did replace teh MAF with what I think a defectifve MAF. The car stutters in park and does not accelerate like it use to.

Is this solely the MAF? Could it be fuel injectors.

Let me restate the acceleration. It misses when I accelerate rapidly. I've been dealing with this for almost 2 years. I've taken it the dealer, a european shop and a guy. all have not been able to fix the problem. I am down about $3000, any help would be appreciated.

I bought a new MAF at teh dealer. I installed it and teh cleaned the throttle body. Care runs way better but still has misfire in the piston three. Tonight I will swith 3 with 2 and see if I still get miss in 3. If I do then I will replace the fuel injector. If it misfire in 2 I will replace the coilpack. Does that sound right? Anyone? Can I buy a aftermarket injector? does it have to be all four at one time. $220/injector on ECS.

No luck on the coil packs.I switched both spark plugs and also found a bunch of cracks in the wires. I taped them with electrical tape and saw significant improvement. I looked into a new wire harness, it was close to $1000. Does anyone know an aftermarket part that will work on a 2001 Audi Tt Quattro? Used parts maybe?

I had to resolder my whole harness with repair packs from parts geek. get the cheaper ones, there actually better quality. you need to buy 4.

Are misfires your only issue now?

I would post back with some cylinder pressure tests and look for exhaust leaks.

BTW you can do boost leaks check by taking a soup can and hooking it to your turbo inlet pipe, and hole on one side and blow compressed air into your system. hissing means leak.
dont forget to clamp the pcv tube that runs to your turbo inlet though.

When Iaped the wires I had significant improvement. I was able to accelertate and the turbo was working great. Once the car got nice and hot it had a little hesitation that felt like a misfire, but no CEL, well a flashing CEL. Do you know if I will still get error codes if its only flashing? I know I should just try, but havent had time yet.

I am going to get the new connectors and rewire teh harness. It may take some time, but I am sure it will be worth it.

I need to get an latitudinal acceleration sensor soon. Dam things are $200 at the stearlership.

flashing CELs are related to catalysts from what i remember.

those aren't expensive either. but since its part of your exhaust it could explain the random misfiring.

boost leaks will explain the engine running lean to, which will cause hesitation and stuttering upon accelerations.

This would have been the first thing I would have recommended you paying attention to. You can replace parts all day long but if it's looking for 5v DC and all it's seeing is 4.2v DC (or some shiz like that) then it's going to continue to give problems. Taping the cracked wires probably covered some of the voltage drop. Like Joe said, definitely replace the coil pack plugs in the harness. Make sure you solder the connections and I would advise heat shrink over the connections once they've been soldered. Just the opinion of an electronics guy though. Hope things start working better for you!

I ordered the connector kit from partsgeek and will install this work on this weekend. I will let you guys know what happens.
