This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm wondering if anyone has done the swtich. Did everything work okay? In my car right now I have Sirius, Bose and Bluetooth with the regular Audi Head Unit. Before I go ahead and buy one for significanlty less than with the origional purchase of the car, I want to make sure they unit is going to work seemlessly in my car. (I'm probably going to have to buy some adapters from Audi)

I know that when you buy the Nav you get the color Info Display in the gauge cluster. The unit should still work without that. right?

Any help would be appreciate greatly.

 

Well if it helps, I installed an RNS-E navigation in my B6 audi and it worked. Where are you getting the unit from? I can help you if you have questions.

 

I have found one on ebay. It's from an American S4. I called Audi and asked if it could be done and they didn't seem to know the answer. They thought I may have to buy all new wiring harnesses and such. Is that true? Or will it pretty much work with purchased adapters (i.e. Siri, Bluetooth for the Nav) from Audi? Thanks for the help.


Does yours work seamlessly with the B6? What year is the Unit from?

(If it helps I have the Bose, Sirius and Bluetooth with the standard radio. The Nav was pretty much the only option, other than the s-line and some minor add-ons that I did not get)

 

Actually, at the dealer they sadly dont know anything about thier navigation systems. Yes, it will work perectly. However, you do have to byt a harness to convert from RNS-E to the current radio. If you are interested, I have one for sale. Let me know. everything works fine and I am appy with the swap. Regarding the color DIS, you dont need it, the navigation unit will still communicate with it and tell you the name of the song playing and all.
